The transition from a corporate job to freelancing is a major decision for me. For someone working in the corporate world for 20 years, it is indeed a challenging and life-changing event. But I believe that with God's guidance and grace, I will achieve success. I trust Him with all my heart that my decision to be a freelancer will never go wrong.

Corporate World

I have been with the corporate world since I graduated from college way back in 1999. I am employed in Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) companies from 1999 until now. I am really proud to say that I learned and experienced so many things, meet and encounter different types of people with different personalities, and was able to build relationships and earned many friends. I enjoyed working in the office, tall buildings, nice facilities, great working environment, free hot and cold drinks, free WiFi, free sleeping quarters, and nice and friendly people. On the other hand, there are a lot of rough and rocky roads that all working people encountered. One of the biggest challenges everyone is facing is tremendous traffic everywhere. From 1999 up to now there is really a big difference. Another challenge for me is the increasing number of people in Manila that contribute to the traffic every day. I can really say that it's really not healthy for me commuting now than before because of the increasing number of people and vehicles with the roads getting smaller. As days, months, and years passed by, I realized that I would not be like this forever. I searched for ways on how I can improve my life without sacrificing my health and my financial aspect. I search for answers until I found out about freelancing and the perks of being a home-based virtual assistant. Upon further research and with the help of my cousin, I found the Filipino Virtual Assistance and immediately enrolled to improved and further enhanced my skills. That's when I remember my OnlineJobs account I created way back in 2015. I retrieved it and started to update it.

My WHY's in Choosing Freelancing

1. Healthy and quality life

Life is short. I am not getting younger anymore. I want to spend my life with meaning and purpose with good health. I believe that I can only do this if I will not go through the tragic traffic every day. I can also spend quality time with myself and, I can travel to different places with no hurry while working.

2. More quality time with family

Family is Love. I believe in the importance of having quality and precious time with family. I don't want to miss the important event or celebration with them because I had to go to work. I will not forget the day that I have to work at Christmas because I was chosen to go to work and I don't have a choice.

Freelancer at home

3. Freedom to work anywhere and anytime

This is one of the beautiful benefits of freelancing and being a freelancer. To work at the comfort of our house. This is something I always look forward to and pray for. There is really no place like home for me, and it's really comforting and safe for me to work at home.

4. Financial freedom

One of the beauties of freelancing. I can earn unlimited income if I want to and work for it. I can give myself enough time to study and master my niche. I can even upgrade my skills and services to attract more potential clients and better serve them.

5. Learn new skills and gain new experience

I believe that I should never stop learning because life never stops teaching. I don't want to limit myself and stuck to the routine process at work. I want to improve myself in all aspects, learn new skills that I love doing, and gain experience from it. Freelancing and being a virtual assistant offers big room for improvement to those who have a big heart for success. I believe that age and education don't matter in becoming a freelancer as long as the heart and desire to achieve it is there.
